AT THE FOREFRONT OF WHAT IS POSSIBLE

Moore Eye Institute has introduced in Pennsylvania and internationally, some of the most important diagnostic technologies for the treatment of macular degeneration and diabetes.

• One of the first in the world and fourth in the United States to introduce digital indocyanine green angiography.
• The first in Pennsylvania to introduce the Optical Coherence Tomography technology, the most important test in following patients with diabetic macular edema and macular degeneration.

• The first in the state of Pennsylvania, after the FDA approved the PDT, to own the PDT.
• One of the first to introduce the Biome technology for vitrectomy surgery and one of the first to introduce perfluorocarbon in the state of Pennsylvania.
• One of the first to perform indirect laser surgery for retinal lasers in the state of Pennsylvania.
• One of the first to perform diode laser treatment for macular degeneration in Pennsylvania
• The first to introduce the Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope (SLO) in Pennsylvania.
• We were one of the first able to perform Microperimetry and introduce the first OCT/SLO in the state of Pennsylvania.

Moore Eye Institute never rests until we are able to offer the latest advances to our patients. Within our practice, examples of this are countless. The new Penticam system at Phoenixville Hospital, measures the cornea more exactly, as well as the angles of the eye for glaucoma therapy. In addition, it offers a new way of measuring the density of cataracts that is second to none. Moore Eye is among the first in Pennsylvania in 2010 to have access to the equipment that is able to perform these exacting measurements for cataract treatment.

Moore Eye was the first in Pennsylvania, and helped introduce the Optic Coherent Tomography (OCT), which is now recognized as the most important diagnostic test for retinal disease, and more accurately treat macular degeneration and diabetic macular edema among other illnesses.

In keeping without our history of innovation and technology we also introduced in Pennsylvania, the first OCT/SLO with the ability to do Microperimetry, which measures macular functioning in macular degeneration in the most accurate manner. In this same type of treatment, early in 2010 we brought in the Heidelberg OCT/FA/ICG, which jumps to the next generation of OCT and from still photos to live video.

The list of introductions and cutting-edge technology in use daily at Moore Eye is too extensive to list. You won’t find a finer institute that demands that the most advanced technology be at the immediate disposal of our doctors, and help our patients. In addition, our close relationships with many major hospitals gives us an even larger adavantage over smaller private practices.
